The San Diego Symphony has a commitment to reaching all segments of our very diverse community. Each season, the San Diego Symphony presents nearly 40 concerts and more than 150 related events, reaching 42,000 students from kindergarten through adult. Our programs are comprehensive in their content and address California State Learning Standards in music and other subjects. San Diego Symphony musicians take an active role in developing and presenting our programs, making symphonic music exciting and accessible to all.

San Diego Symphony Open Rehearsal Schedule 2009-10 Season
|
High school and college students are invited to attend a rehearsal of a Jacobs’ Masterworks concert. Offered free of charge, Open Rehearsals offer students and teachers an exciting and unique opportunity to see how musicians work together to create the highest quality artistic experience. Rehearsals are typically 2˝ hours long, sometimes less. You may stay for the entire time or you can come to either the first half (arriving at 9:45 and leaving at the break – somewhere between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.) or to the second half (arriving at 11:15 a.m. and leaving at the end, usually 12:30 p.m.).
Repertoire listed is what will be on the program, not necessarily what will be rehearsed that day.
